I took a picture of this starfish today. In the background you can see Anse-a-Galets, the village where we will be feeding a bunch of hungry kids soon.
I return home tomorrow, after a good week. Good connections made, details nailed down. Many stories to share.
By the way, the starfish was alive... so I threw him in to live another day.

You even saw a starfish to throw back in - good way to end the busy week!
Bless you for saving the starfish. You know what an animal lover I am.
Thank you for letting us know of these poor starving children. My baby chihuahua (18 years old) ate better than these poor children. I also think of all the over weight people in the world. Therefore, am donating a small amount to help (more will come later).
I just lost my baby recently, and can't imagine a mother watching her child starve.
$3 will allow us to plant a banana tree that, within a year-and-a-half will produce a #100 pound banana bunch AND will reproduce, producing shoots that can be separated from the mother plant and planted elsewhere. $5 will allow us to plant a mango or avocado tree
$100 will place a biosand water filter in a family's home, providing enough safe, good tasting water for up to ten people. Thes filters remove all bacteria and parasites from bad water, making it safe to drink. These basic and durable filters last 10 years with very little maintenance.
$5 will place a Creole-language preschool level reader in the hands of a young Haitian child.
$20 will provide materials to build a latrine for a Haitian family
