This is so appropriate to making this real for all those who want to help. The story tells them about you and how you want to help one Haitin person at a time. It shares with those the needs and hopes that these individuals have and how maybe there IS someway to help. That is the hardest part, we all want to help, but tell us what to do. Steve you're doing such a nice job in expressing those needs. I loved how you said "I think we can make a different to those people on that mountain, and everyone jumped in. what a testimony!
$3 will allow us to plant a banana tree that, within a year-and-a-half will produce a #100 pound banana bunch AND will reproduce, producing shoots that can be separated from the mother plant and planted elsewhere. $5 will allow us to plant a mango or avocado tree
$100 will place a biosand water filter in a family's home, providing enough safe, good tasting water for up to ten people. Thes filters remove all bacteria and parasites from bad water, making it safe to drink. These basic and durable filters last 10 years with very little maintenance.
$5 will place a Creole-language preschool level reader in the hands of a young Haitian child.
$20 will provide materials to build a latrine for a Haitian family
